Today we wandered down to
Armand Bayou. There are three, mile and half or so, trails through the woods. There is a lot less bayou than forest which was disappointing but it's a nice park never the less. Had I not had a duh moment this morning and left mosquito spray at home it would have been more enjoyable. We stumbled across an armadillo rooting for food. They must be extremely near sighted since he wouldn't have seen me at all had I not started swatting at a horde of attacking blood suckers.

A garden blogger's conference took place last weekend and I took advantage of the chance to go check out Austin and meet some other bloggers. Austin while still clearly a 'western' as opposed to 'east coast' city is the most pedestrian and bike friendly city I've seen down here ( other'n here in The Woodlands ). 
This is the second time we've run across these carp. They are about 18" long, silver backed and white bellied.…
