And home again
The few days in San Antonio were fun and it was great to see relatives, but it’s better to be home.
I’m still amazed at how third world the Houston power grid is. As far as I’m concerned we can’t throw those responsible out of office fast enough. It is inexcusable that the nation’s fourth largest city still has half its population with out power. It is unacceptable that other half went about a week with out power. Heads need to roll for this.
If we stay in this house and do the upgrades we’ll be adding a natural gas generator. Those gasoline ones are nasty. Too much noise and too much smell and too much work hauling all that fuel, thanks but no thanks on that.
While in San Antonio I went shopping to replace ruined blue jeans and shoes. It was more painful than usual. There was not a single pair of women’s jeans that were 100% cotton. They had built in girdles and spandex for holding in the bulges. I refused to purchase any. I did find some at Land’s End online and ordered them.
Guy’s jeans however are all still 100% cotton. If worse comes to worse, I can buy guy’s jeans and have the tailor to take in the waist. Why do women put up with clothing manufacturers pushing crap? Just say ‘no’ my money and I are going elsewhere.
It’s going to be a very busy few weeks, the garden still needs lots of work, I have many things scheduled to do and I really want to get the rest of the basic iPhone programming down.
