Things go well if a bit oddly down here.

Since I had to give up running I decided to take up roller blading. I loved to ice and roller skate when I was young. I thought it would come right back. Bike riding comes back, once you learn you never forget.

But I had not accounted for everything. Ice is flat. Roller skating rinks are flat. The world outside is not flat. I’m still working on the hill thing. Once I decided death might not be so bad I was able to remain up right while skating at incredible speeds down very slight slopes. The rest I’ll figure out I expect.

It has been chilly more than warm since I bought the roller blades so I’ve only been out a couple of times.

Yesterday I went and did the weekly grocery shopping. While I was loading up the groceries into the car, the 800S Mercedes parked next to me hit me. I guess I wasn’t loading those groceries up fast enough. To get the Mercendes’ driver’s attention I rapped loud and hard on the trunk with my keys. The car stopped. No one got out and said ‘ Oh my God, I’m so sorry are you ok?’ and no one got out and said ‘You crazy b*tch, what are you doing to the paint job on my $130,000 car?’. No one got out. The car just stopped, changed gear to forward and pulled away. I had on sunglasses and the windows were tinted so I never saw the driver. How totally weird. ( I’m not hurt it was a very slight bump. )

We are hoping to get to South Padre Island soon. There is a huge wildlife reserve on the mainland near by, and Mexico is near by so I’m hoping to get some really good photos and have fun stalking wildlife and checking out Mexico.
