Texas Renaissance Fair, Plantersville takes place each October for the whole month. Along the route there are police men at each light to keep the traffic moving. But I think they are really there to make sure none of those long haired hippy type freaks take a wrong turn and horrify the locals.

As these things go it’s a good take, larger than most and about half of the attendees costume up for the affair. The food is better than you’d expect at a fair like this as is the entertainment. The shops have all the kitsch you’d expect.
