My SQL on OSX
It is supposed to be a painless install. It was not. In fact it was rather painful.
I put together a set a instructions I hope will be useful for anyone else attempting it. It’s on the sidebar at the right under computer stuff. And here 10 Step WordPress Install on OSX
I couldn’t have set mine up with out MySQL Reference for OSX and Installing WordPress on Tiger. If something I say is not clear or your run into troubles check both those sites for more information.
My problem was that WordPress said it couldn’t connect to the MySQL server. The MySQL Reference for OSX explains the problem and offers up a few fixes. The PHP and MySQL sockets are looking to connect in different locations. I took the easy solution, you may want to check out the others.
