Houston Home and Garden Show

March 16th, 2007 · No Comments

What a dud. I knew the Houston Garden Show wasn’t going to be as good as the Boston Show, but when I ran into this I knew there was no hope. { Spam mobile }

Any how, I did find this really cool, really huge Nepenthes ‘Miranda’ for $30 so that made the whole trip worth while. I am not sure this picture does it justice. The pitchers are 6″-8″ long! Large enough to swallow a few lizards and things.

The bamboo arrived today! Rather harmless looking plant isn’t it? It is supposed to be a clumping kind of bamboo. It should get about 30′ tall with 3″ stalks when it is full grown. I’m guessing it’ll be 3 or so years before it gets that large.

And this is something you don’t want to see on a truck traveling about 5mph faster than everyone else, most of it sideways across 4 lanes of highway. This picture was snapped at about 60mph I’m surprised it is as readable as it is.

Just another day deep in the fly over.
