How did things come to be that we have corporations larger than many nations? They wield more power than governments of most countries.

If you haven’t yet read Gangs of American you should. I downloaded it around noon one day and read it straight through to the end. It is an amazing story. You can buy it from the website, Amazon, or download the pdf version here.

It is the story if the rise of corporate power. Much of the story you heard in history class but not connected in the same way as in this book. I can not recommend it highly enough.

Also take some time and visit PR Watch. Lately it seems the news, tv and the papers, is just one big commercial for the government and corporations. The internet has helped bring more news and information to more people. But only so long as we can maintain net neutrality to keep censors from slowing or blocking information.
