Avoiding colds

January 30th, 2007 · No Comments

Your mom already told you most of this, but not all.

Keep your hands to yourself.
Everything you touch in public has been touched by many others and several of them were sick when they did so. Especially shopping carts. The less you touch, the less viruses and bacterium will be on your hands.

Wash your hands.
With soap, and water, and through 3 courses of ‘Row your boat’. Because there are some things you have to touch.

Don’t touch your eyes!
This is the most important of all. Every time your eye gets itchy and you reach to rub it - stop - think - is this worth spending a week in bed?

Most colds are caught by you picking up a virus on your hands and rubbing your eye. It takes thousands of bacterium to get you sick but only one or two viruses in your eyes.

Eat right ( real food, lots of green things ), dress appropriate for the weather, get a good nights sleep every night. That way if you are exposed to a cold you’ll be in a better position to fight it off.
