Body World

We went into the city yesterday to see the Body World 3 show at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was gruesome and fascinating at the same time, pictures were not allowed so I’ve nothing to show you. I do recommend seeing the show when it comes your way. Many parts of the body you’ve seen in pictures and all are different looking at in real life. Parts were larger and smaller and different colors than I expected.

The show attracted a large crowd many of which were clearly not regular museum goers. One of which was a chemical engineer who I asked for information on area restaurants and instead got a list of all the places in the south his company had transfered him. So you might plan your trip on a weekday.

The museum was sparse on displays other than the traveling shows but they did have a larger than average display of rocks and minerals. We also visited a traveling exhibit on the “Royal Tombs of Ur” which was decent. Every show at the museum cost extra including the Butterfly room which we skipped. So it is a pricey museum despite its small size.
