I tell you what, shopping at the cosmetics counters at Dillard’s was like battling your way through a picket line. Brutal battle. Every single person working there asked us if we wanted help. ( more than once ) One followed us after I told her the best help she could give me was to walk in front of us and tell her coworkers to stop bothering us. Good thing they make us girls strong and tough. What a battle, I feel like I’ve been in a bar room brawl.

The rest of it was painless, most of it was done online. This week I stay home, wait for deliveries and wrap them as they come. Hopefully I’ll have it all boxed and ready to ship by Friday.

Of the three roof guys coming to give me a bid Friday only one made it. I liked the sound of them very much but thought the bid was high. Since no one else showed I ‘ve nothing to compare it to. I have to also go to the HomeOwner’s Assc. and get permission to change the roof color and shingle style. We can only use dark, muted colors. Ascetically pleasing but not very energy efficient down here.

The attic insulation is done and thanks to a very chilly, windy few days here I was able to locate and seal several air leaks. I probably won’t see the difference till Jan. since it was after the cold spell I got them all fixed. In this house too, the electric sockets on the outside walls were seriously dripping cold air. I have child safety covers on all the ones we are not using now.
