Thanksgiving and all
This was the first chance to sit and chat with the Mississippi survivors. Life is still really bad out there and there are miles and miles of areas that are flattened. There are whole towns that are just gone. They still are shell shocked and spend large chunks of the day waiting in lines for food, gas and other supplies. No one has yet seen FEMA. But I hear ‘Hell of a job Brownie’ started a disaster consulting firm.
Fred, yes it is always Fred, wound up at the vets. He was coughing all week, we thought he had hairballs. It turns out he had somehow torn his trachea, and had an infection. $350, a shaved neck and several days of opium and penicillin later he seems to be coming back. He is still having trouble breathing, hopefully that too will get better soon. the squirrels are over running the place and Kazoo is bouncing off the walls, we need Fred to be able to go sit on the back porch again.
The trees are at about peak color now and it has been windy the last couple of days. We even got a bit of rain yesterday. If it wasn’t in the 80s it would ‘ve been like a fall day back home.
PS 4.3 miles today!
