Cats and vets

More progress, I ran ( slowly ) 2.3 miles today. The new kitten and various other chores have kept me busy so no time to dig into any math or physics this week.

There are two spots in the attic I needed to look at, the rooms below those areas are chilly on cold days and hot on warm days. I found the leak over one. The other will have to wait till next week. The attic floor is about 6 different heights as the ceilings are upstairs. So I had to do some serious gymnastics to get to places. The spot I need to get to next week is in an 8′x8′x8′ room that is a 6′ drop from the attic floor surrounding it through a 2′x6′ hole. So I have to drop down, missing wires, ducts etc, land on beams so as to not fall through the ceiling and get back out when I’m done. Oh fun.

Even though energy costs are much cheaper than back home, fixing the air leaks in the attic will make the upstairs more comfortable and it will help keep a/c and heat costs down. It just kills me to waste energy knowing that the people making profits off me are either religious fanatics who support BinLaden and oppress women or Duyba’s buddies. I’d like to see the US not sending all that money over to the Middle East.

Fred has finally started eating again. He is not eating much and still mostly hiding in the cat carrier but he seems to be improving.

I went to take Kazoo for his checkup today, but Fred had planted himself firmly in the cat carrier. So he came too. I’m not sure he thought it was such a great idea once we got to the vet. Kitten is about 3 months the vet says and healthy. Vet also says if Fred doesn’t come out of his funk and start eating soon I’ll have to force feed him. I wonder if they make protective gear to wear while you force feed your cat?
