Life in the flyover

We lost Barney Friday evening. He got hit by a car. You’d think on a dead end street it wouldn’t be a problem. It was a dark corner, he must’ve not seen it coming or the driver him. Fred was most distressed and spent all his time searching the house and yard for Barney. So we brought home a new kitten. He has the strangest ever markings. His face looks like that of a monkey’s. He has very faint tiger stripes, a white nose and toes, but mostly Siamese markings. He seems very well natured and I think he’ll be a good match for Fred.

Fred spent all last night growling and hissing at him. I was surprised. I think he was just upset it wasn’t Barney but a pretender. They are doing better today. The store says he is 8 weeks, I’m guessing more like 12.

On the brighter side, I’m almost over my cold, and I ran a mile today. Now to see if I can get to 2 miles.
Back to kitty training, I thought I was past chasing kittens off blinds and out of plants. The little danderball is kicking up my allergies too.
