Can you believe they still have not gotten all those poor people out of New Orleans. WTF? Were the Feds just leaving them to die? And where is the governor of Mississippi? I don’t seem to be hearing much from him either. Looks like we are still waiting for a leader.
We have hurricane survivors pouring into Houston. The old Astrodome is full. They were turning these people, with no money and exhausted, away to roam looking for aid. Reliant Stadium has been opened but it is very clear the federal government is MIA. Up north the National Guard is called up just before a storm, so why did it take 4 days to get the Guard into Mississippi and New Orleans? Even now the smaller towns are waiting for help.
Also haven’t we spent a bloody fortune on HomeLand Security so they could quickly deal with large disasters? WTF? Where were they? And how nice of our fearless leader to show up late and full of excuses. I think we should dump him and let his Daddy and Clinton finish up his term before any more disasters happen.
On a brighter note all the family is fine, though one aunt and uncle’s home is completely gone. We aren’t getting word out of there, the phones and electricity are not yet up.
The new computer is up and running. I’ll work on the webcam this weekend and continue with the usual stuff next week again.

For a cat who couldn’t find his way around the house Fred is quite adapt at opening doors, cabinets and drawers. Barney has been hanging out with the high school girls in the morning while they wait for the bus.
