We tried to go out to dinner last night but the restaurants and local stores had long since closed for the storm. The news is still reporting the highways are backed up and the gov’t is trying to get fuel to everyone who needs it. There are cars piled up along 45 in all the store parking lots near the highway. They are out of gas or just exhausted. A few fights have broken out nothing serious.
Rumor has it a few of the churches are beginning to open up for evacuees.
It looks like 45 has been cleared as far north as us.
Late am:
Still quiet here, we took a short bike ride. You can smell the ocean and there are very tiny gusts of wind occasionally.
4 p.m.
The wind is noticeably picking up now, gusts are moving trees and the eye isn’t expected to hit land till 7 am tomorrow. It’s going to be a long evening. By dinner time Sunday we should be clear of the storm. Right now it looks like the eye will pass ~50 miles east of us.
