Baghdad west

Here in Baghdad West we had 12 hours with out juice yesterday, in 6+ increments. Rumor has it the Village Idiot is hitting the bottle. Rumor also says Entergy did some under handed stuff in the past and none of the other utilities will sell them electricity. Time for us to figure out how to get a new provider. ( ‘course that is all rumor )

I did get to see a humming bird while I was out working in the garden today, really cool.

No sign of the yard guy who gave all my shrubs French Poodle hair cuts two weeks ago. He is supposed to be bringing replacements this week.

Wow. I guess it was true, a court order to play nice and we have juice again.

Secretary Bodman Signs Order to Help Restore Electricity to East Texas More Quickly WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman today signed an order to authorize and direct CenterPoint Energy to temporarily connect and restore power to Entergy Gulf States, Inc. This action will allow thousands of Entergy customers to receive electricity while Entergy Gulf States, Inc., rebuilds its electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

In the aftermath of any disaster, it’s critically important that we work together to restore life-saving and life-sustaining electricity to those people affected by the storm. By issuing this order, we make it possible for thousands of Texas residents and scores of businesses and emergency services to receive electricity as quickly as possible,s Secretary Bodman said.

The order, signed by Secretary Bodman this afternoon, is in response to confirmed reports that Entergy’s transmission and delivery infrastructure sustained severe damage from Hurricane Rita. Under this order, CenterPoint will temporarily provide electricity through portions of the Entergy system in East Texas to Entergy customers. Without this order, customers throughout East Texas could have been without power for weeks.
