Life in the flyover

On the road through the Carolinas

without comments

We stopped somewhere in South Carolina ~ 20 miles north of the border.

We were south of the Mason Dixon line when we stopped last night guess I should’ve paid more attention in history class. That became apparent in the morning when the waitress at the Marriott would only talk with The Husband. Later in the day everyone started talking funny and getting bigger.

As we went through DC it rained. It has rained every single time I have gone through DC, I’m starting to wonder if the sun ever shines there?

85 is a nice drive, the new sections have banked corners and the traffic was light.

About half way through North Carolina we started seeing bill boards for strip clubs and I knew we had entered the Bible Belt. By South Carolina, sex stores, strip clubs and discount bibles were heavily advertised on the bill boards. There are tons of churches all along the highway and neon crosses. It is clear we are getting deeper into The Red Zone.
