Life in the flyover

Almost there!

without comments

We’re parked for the night in Mobile, Al.

We started out in SC, the billboards were amazing, sex clubs, massages, strip clubs, sex stores, sex restaurants ( got me? ), all in between multiple churches. The Carolinas are strange places.

When we arrived in Georgia the sex billboards quickly gave way to flea market bill boards then nothing but trees, except for a quick drive through Atlanta.

Alabama has been nothing but trees excepting a bridge over several rivers meeting that went on for 3 or 4 miles. It was cool, and just barely north of Mobile.

I’m starting to feel like what’s his name in Ground Hog day, Marriotts at night, Cracker Barrels for breakfast and lunch, and this is feeling like one very long day that keeps looping. I’m hoping the scenery along route 10 will be more interesting. Tomorrow we’ll be on 10 all day till we hit Houston, probably around dinner time or early evening.

I’m wrecked, we’ve been getting fruit at the Cracker Barrels but I haven’t seen a vegetable in days. My face is sunburned and my eyes are black, I look like I lost a fight. Sleeping on low tech beds is bad too, I’ve aches everywhere, but we are getting there. First order of business in the new home will be a real bed, and getting the kitchen set up.

Real food and real coffee! First real coffee we’ve had since Maryland, and there was some green stuff on my plate at dinner.
