Day 42

without comments

I’ll be so glad when this home selling stuff is over. I spent the morning scrubbing every inch of the office. It doesn’t seem possible to keep finding so much to clean. There are just too many small nooks and crannies in this house.

The Salesman sent me data on the homes that have sold on South Main in the last 12 months. The average Days on Market is 45, we’re at 42. I found 3 that were with in a couple of blocks of here, built in 1900 and of similar size. We are still a bit high on price. I think our home is nicer, but then who doesn’t? So we are cutting the price a bit this week for the open house. That puts us more in line with the other homes that have sold, but allows for the fact home prices have gone up in this area. If I look at the mapass data the 45 dom maps just fine. So perhaps we are not far from an offer?

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and all I offered to play Irish music and make corned beef and cabbage for the open house. I don’t think the Salesman was too keen on the idea. ;-)

And February is ending with yet another snow storm tonight ( yass, perhaps it is time for a new acronym? )
